DESIGNLINE Weightless Dry Oil Leave-In

What’s the hottest styling trend at your salon? It's all about waves and messier deconstructed braids that complement the laid-back style of the Pacific Northwest. In Washington, it's important to have something you can wear and have it still looks nice even if a little rain hits it.

What’s the hottest color trend at your salon? We do more foiling than balayage as a salon. I don't think the art of foiling and multi-dimensional color will ever go out of style. We are also getting a lot of requests for plum-ish reds and deep purples, as well as other "fashion" shades.

What is your favorite time-saving secret? Dry your hair with a towel to 80% dry before you start blowdrying. It saves so much work and time.

What product do you recommend the most to guests? DESIGNLINE Texture Tousle is a top-selling product for me. It's so versatile. I use it to add texture to short hair as well as define waves in longer locks. It's easy for guests to use and the perfect size to have in your purse for midday style touch-ups.

What hair routine step do people skip that they should not? People oftentimes don't comb the conditioner through their hair. We could use way less conditioner and intensify the qualities of any conditioner with this simple trick. Just use a wide-tooth comb or wet comb and smooth the conditioner through mid-shaft and ends (avoiding the root area). Your hair will comb out like a dream after.

What is your favorite non-styling product (shampoo, etc.)? I am loving the new Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Hair's brilliantly shiny and moisturized after, plus it has a luxurious aroma that guests love. It's gentle enough for color-treated hair, but strong enough to cleanse away impurities.

Tousled Bob

It's one of most popular—and versatile—cuts. So why not have a bob, but make it yours? Change it up with an angle cut, some strategic color, or a sideswipe of bangs, and the entire look is personalized without taking away from the bob's classic shape.
