Piece-y Texture

Creating piece-y texture is our go-to casual look this spring—and it’s easy to achieve.

A simple cocktail of two of our favorite products, applied to wet or dry hair, will give just the right amount of edge and movement to your look.

1. Start with styling paste, like Redken Mess Around 10, emulsifying in hands first rather than applying directly to hair. This will keep it from getting goopy in your hair.

2. Add a few drops of DESIGNLINE Texture Balance Infusing Oil to the paste, to make it even softer before applying—this will give your hair more movement without weighing it down. Apply from the back areas in the mid-shaft of the hair, staying away from the scalp areas and working your way to the front. This will create more body and the piece-y texture you’re looking for, resulting in a style you can rock day or night!
