Meghan Markle's Hair Evolution

Prince Harry is set to marry Meghan Markle this weekend and to say we are excited is a huge understatement. With so much speculation and gossip over who’s rumoured to be doing the princess to-be’s hair, make up and designing her dress for the big day – we’ve probably put our news alerts in overdrive this week! Over the past couple of weeks, as well as planning the royal wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan will most likely have been going over royal protocol. Meghan especially will be learning the ropes on how to become a royal – which shouldn’t be difficult given her naturally elegant and sophisticated poise. Her chic style has been talked about for months now, but what about her beautiful, sleek hair?

In an interview with Beauty Banter she revealed her insider tips for achieving her luminous-looking, radiant hair. We loved the fact Meghan uses beauty products that are affordable and attainable – and with her hair always looking in great condition we’re looking forward to seeing her signature looks being given the ‘royal’ twist. As well as keeping her hair in enviably tip-top shape, her evolution of hair styles has also been a hot topic. She’s been known for her messy buns and loose, natural waves, but more recently she’s been photographed with poker straight hair and her voluminous waves have been sleeker for her first set of royal engagements. Check out our gallery for her hair evolution from just over the past decade:

Before she was known for her hit show, Suits, Meghan opened cases for NBC’s show Deal or No Deal. She rocked super bouncy big curls with the help of some hair extensions for an extra full mane.

To recreate Meghan’s bohemian look, hair spray your hair immediately after curling with a large barrel curling iron to keep your defined waves locked in place.

Meghan donned her now classic messy bun, worn low with wispy flyaways for a natural look.

She surprised us again with this side braid – the only time we’ve seen her wear one.

2015

In an interview with Birchbox Meghan explained “ When my hair is feeling a little weighted, Suanne, my hair artist on set, has me bend forward and she sprays a little Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray or nothing at all, and then has me ‘flip back hard’ to give my hair a little extra bounce.” Here she is having mastered the textured hair flip at the CFDA Awards in 2015.

2016

Her sleek polished waves are fit for a princess here, evidence that her signature waves can be smoothed down for a more sophisticated look. We’re a fan of both.

2017

Her dark locks worn in her go-to waves looked effortless and casual at her first public appearance with Prince Harry.

The official engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan called for a big, voluminous blowout that showcased her lustrous waves

2018

Meghan’s soon-to-be life as a royal calls for a lot of interesting hats and fascinators. For anyone else this would seriously limit their hair-game… unless you’re Meghan. Here she keeps her hair straight, with plenty of body, and a soft face-framing curl for that perfect mix of her old and new look.
